ADVOCACY. EDUCATION. RESOURCES.

IBSC is the only state association to exclusively advocate and represent independent community banks in South Carolina. We are privileged to have a dedicated and active associate member community; all passionately committed to seeing community banks thrive.

Advocating For Community Banks

  • The Independent Banks of SC (IBSC) is dedicated to promoting fair and equitable banking practices across South Carolina, consistently evaluating industry standards to serve the community better.
  • Each year, our IBSC community bank members come together with our national affiliate in Washington, D.C., to take part in the annual ICBA Capital Summit.
  • We take pride in supporting community banking across our state by hosting the annual IBSC Legislative Lunch at the South Carolina State House.

Supporting Our Members

  • We actively monitor and advocate on state and federal banking matters that impact South Carolina’s community banks. By engaging with state and federal leaders, we address key legislation and regulations, keeping our members informed about current developments and upcoming challenges. Additionally, we support our members in promoting the unique benefits of community banking to the public.
  • We organize seminars and host an annual convention to foster collaboration and communication among South Carolina community bankers. Through our partnership with ICBA, we provide comprehensive training and development opportunities for employees and directors, as well as webinars covering the latest regulatory issues and essential banking topics.
  • The IBSC carefully selects and endorses trusted vendors, ensuring they meet our high standards. These vetted providers offer top-quality products and services at exclusive, discounted rates for our members.
  • A portion of our IBSC Leaders of Tomorrow annual fundraising efforts, are donated to the SC National Guard Foundation.
